Long journeys seated as a passenger engage my view from behind salt crusted windshields, consuming images from the side roads and cross-country interstates. I make note of favorite snack foods contained inside my domestic world and backyard treasures of those we pass by. These hum drum experiences, marked by a photo or a collected object, are cast in materials to maintain their permanence and associate with intrinsic value. Memories of daily life lived as a mother contrast the recognizable forms of consumerism worth.
